surfboard fiahing 092511

The thing about surfboard fishing is about half the time you get denied and you aren't allowed to fish.  If its not big waves, its reports of sharks, and if its not sharks it is red tide, and if it is not red tide, then there is a sewage spill.  Storms, surf, danger...

The waters were blood red. I couldn't fish, no fish were going to be in that deadly soup; Red Tide.  Only, this was the most disgusting blood red tide I have ever seen.  I put my gear on the shore and surfed instead, no use trying for nothing, so I surfed waves of blood.

Earlier that day, I sarted from OC, and I fished Strands, just north of Dana Point.  I hooked into a big Halibut, but lost it in fear.  A new territory (I had only been there a couple of times before), DFG on the beach, and I forgot my net.....sht!  I decided to leave and go for San Diego.
